Where to find your Chevy VIN

Your VIN is a unique 17-character code. Any of these places gives the same number:

  • Base of the windshield, driver's side. Look at the lower-left corner of the glass from outside.
  • Driver's door-jamb sticker. Open the driver's door and check the certification label on the frame.
  • Registration, insurance card, and title. Every ownership document carries the VIN.

On trucks and SUVs the glove-box SPID label also lists every RPO code the vehicle was built with.

Which Chevrolet models are supported

The decoder covers the full Chevrolet line — Silverado, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado, Equinox, Traverse, Blazer, Malibu, Camaro, and Corvette, plus older models where GM still has the factory record on file.

Newer Chevrolets (roughly 2020 and later) usually return the original window-sticker PDF; older ones return the RPO build sheet instead. Either way you get the factory record of how the vehicle was equipped.
